Webster Analysis
Pelvic imbalance during pregnancy can lead to altered nerve function to the uterus, as well as changes to the bony and soft tissue structures of the pelvis. Altered biomechanics can affect the baby’s ability to get into the optimal position for birth.
Undue tension on the uterus, altered pelvic biomechanics, and baby positioning are the three main causes of dystocia, or difficult labor. The Webster Analysis restores proper biomechanics to the pelvis and its supporting structures. This allows for a safer, easier birth.
The Webster Analysis can be used throughout pregnancy, but the earlier it is implemented, the more likely you are to benefit from care.
Comfort
Gentle chiropractic care can help alleviate the aches and discomfort that may come as your body changes throughout pregnancy.
Pelvic balance
By reducing tension in the pelvis and surrounding soft tissue, chiropractic care can help restore balance and proper movement as your body prepares for birth.
Individualized care
Every pregnancy is different. Your care is tailored to your stage of pregnancy, your body, and your comfort, using gentle techniques and pregnancy-specific positioning.
Birth preparation
Power, Passage & Passenger
Three important factors work together during labor and birth: Power, Passage, and Passenger. Understanding each one helps explain why pelvic balance, nervous system function, and baby’s position are an important part of preparing your body for birth.
Power
Your nervous system coordinates the muscles involved in labor and birth. Chiropractic care supports optimal nervous system function as your body prepares for delivery.
Passage
Your pelvis is the passage your baby moves through during birth. Reducing tension in the pelvis and surrounding soft tissue helps restore balance and proper movement, allowing your pelvis to function as it was designed.
Passenger
Your baby’s position can play an important role in labor and birth. By restoring balance to the pelvis and surrounding structures, Webster care helps create the best possible environment for baby to find an optimal position for birth.
